- DieCAST model simulates mesoscale variability with a high degree of realism.
- Not only the traditionally investigated Bora and Siroccio but also Libeccio and Maestro winds all create significant transient circulations, including cyclonic and anti-cyclonic gyres and eddies under effect of wind-stress curl.
- The Maestro wind is strong and sudden in summertime, producing inertial circulation, seiches and upwelling along Croatia and its islands.
